Old Town Road achieves longest running #1 song on the Billboard Top 100

Lil Nas X now has the longest running #1 song on the Billboard Top 100. It's been 25 years since a record like this has been broken. In 1995, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men recorded "One Sweet Day" which remained at the top of the charts for 16 weeks. Old Town Road topped the song with 18 weeks at #1. Mariah Carey made a genuine and kind post on her Instagram (@mariahcarey) congratulating the up-and-coming artist. Boyz II Men posted a photo of the trio and Mariah recording the song, they did not directly reference Lil Nas X but just gave a story on how the song came to be.
